It would be a good idea if you didn't feed them sushi. ANY type of oral indiscretion may cause vomiting and diarrhea. You really don't want to cause any GI upsets just because you wanted to get rid of the sushi. Why don't you just share it with your neighbors/friends. Besides you don't want to run the risk spending more money trying to fix something that could have been prevented

the less you give your dog besides its kibble, the better. That many say otherwise doesn't make it a good practice. I am still waiting for somebody to explain adding anything to the complete and well balanced diet most dog foods provide is good for the dog.

I wouldn't suggest feeding sushi.

However feeding and adding whole foods is a wonderful idea. Choosing a quality kibble is very important. Keeping in mind though that kibble isn't natural and lacks moisture. Just because kibble states it is complete doesn't mean that a dog is able to absorb everything it needs. The bioavailability can come into question. Feeding a good kibble, balanced raw or home cooked diet is the best bet.

Cats have different nutritional needs and require a higher protein content in their food than do dogs. If a dog eats cat food consistently there is the chance that the higher protein consumption will affect the dog's kidneys. The dog should eat dog food. I had to relocate the cat food in our house to a higher location so the dog could not access it

Dog and cat foods may seem pretty similar on the surface, but there are some important differences. Cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they need to eat meat as their main food source, whereas dogs are omnivores and need a diet with more fiber than a strictly carnivorous diet can provide. Still, there is meat in dog food, too, so why do dogs crave their feline friends’ food so fiercely?

But just because something tastes good doesn’t mean we should eat it all the time. Dr. Crowell-Davis compares cat food and dogs to cake and humans. “It’s not necessarily the best thing for our diet, and certainly if we ate nothing but cake, we’d become really sick. But as an occasional treat, it's not going to hurt us.”

I'm not sure about what kind of sick you're referring to. If you mean will it make them hurl, well yes it could, it did mine (which is why I'm not currently feeding them raw meat), but they're Chis and since they aren't large dogs, that may have something to do with it. 

If you mean can they pick up diseases from the raw meat; not unless it's WILD raw meat. If the answer is "yes", then of course there are lots of different parasites and "bugs" harbored by animals in the wild. Animals raised for human consumption that don't meet the standard for humans is what dogs get in raw foods processed for them, unless of course, you just go buy a chicken or a beef bone out of the meat department. And, of course, those carcasses have been inspected in addition to the animals being raised with every conceivable vaccination, all kinds of antibiotics to prevent illness, etc, etc. and the slaughtering process is (supposedly) rigorously inspected on a regular basis.

Edit: Ah, so many "experts" on feeding dogs. Too bad their reading comprehension isn't as good as their "knowledge". To avoid other people confusing the issue for you, I suggest that if you want to try feeding your dog raw foods, stick with meats from a butcher shop at least, and try to get organic if you can. 

Personally, I'm trying to go vegetarian (for the illiterate I mean ME, not my dogs) because I have a son who's worked in commercial feed production & supply, and trucking for slaughterhouses for most of his adult life; What he's told me about it all is revolting. The stuff they feed meat animals for humans is appalling, aside from the way they're treated. If that's what they're feeding us, think what pets are getting. I'm moving back to live on a farm (mine) soon, and once I get there, my dogs will eat whatever is available with the exception of low grade commercial dogfoods. 

If chicken innards, leftovers, pork & beef bones, squirrels shot for game, dead possums they drag up and raw eggs makes them hurl or gives them worms then, well, they'll be outside when they eat where it doesn't matter. I was raised on a farm and our dogs ate whatever came out the back door or they could catch. They didn't live long, but life was hard in the sticks years ago- and I didn't get much better health care than the dogs.

Good question! Many illnesses are caused by microorganims which include bacteria and viruses. In many cases these pathogens (organisms that cause disease) produce factors that help them colonize and infect a host animal - you, me, a cow or a dog. Superficially we look different from dogs. When you observe things more closely, you'll find that we differ in many other ways that are too small to be seen by the naked eye. The surfaces of our cell membranes, though similar in many respects, have many differences. Nearly all pathogens need to bind to cell membranes at some point so they can establish a "residence", or worse, get inside the cell to do some damage - bad for us, but good for the pathogen as the inside of a cell has a lot of food and nutrients. 

So - the "hook" a pathogen uses to bind to a dog cell's membrane may not work on a human cell, and vice versa. 

However, humans can get sick from dogs, and dogs from humans. You may have heard of rabies - a deadly infection that once killed many peple, until Louis Pasteur developed a vaccine against the infection. The virus which causes rabies slowly destroys the nervous system. Infected animals behave oddly, often loosing their fear of humans. For this reason, you should never pet or approach a wild animal that suddenly seems 'friendly.' Dogs infected with the viruses are often called "MAD" as they foam profusely at the mouth, like a madman. The destruction of their nervous system makes it difficult to swallow saliva, so it drools from the mouth. If bitten by a mad dog, a human can contract rabies. Theoretically an infected human could pass the virus to an unifected dog, though I have never heard of it happeneing. In most cases domesticated pets acquire the virus through contact with animals in the wild.

Absolutely! Some dogs are more tolerant of the heat than others. There is heat exhaustion, and heat stroke...stroke is deadly. Exhaustion can be deadly if not taken care of. We had two Golden Retriever puppies that were in the shade all day, with plenty of water, and we had a very hot day just a few days after getting them. About 2-3 days after the really hot day, one of them died. His tummy was all bruised-looking and we couldn't figure out what would cause this in one puppy but not both. The vet did a necropsy and said it was like a delayed form of heat stroke. The puppy couldn't tolerate the heat, even with the shade and water. And about 24-48 hours after the intense heat, the blood vessels start breaking down, and the dog essentially bleeds out internally. He said it's very rare, which is why the other littermate didn't do the same thing. And once started, unable to be reversed. :(

Also, once a dog has had heat exhaustion it becomes even less tolerant to the heat, and can get heat exhaustion/stroke much more easier after that!

Dogs love to eat snow, and it will not hurt them in any way.

The Snow isn't going to hurt them, but the sheer temperature of the snow can cause them to 

vomit due to them not being prepared for the drop in temperature

Like any other dog, your Toller's increased water intake could be anything from a harmless 
behavior change to significant endocrine disease. The snow-eating, especially, can just be a 
novel fascination with the texture and coldness of snow.
However, increased water intake also can be diabetes, Cushing's Disease, kidney failure, 
Addison's Disease or a number of other hormonal diseases. The first question to ask: "Is your 
dog acting sick?"
If the answer is yes, then a trip to the vet for some screening bloodwork is in order. If you 
want to try an easy home test for diabetes, get a urine test strip from a human pharmacy or 
medical supply store, catch some of your dog's urine (this can be trickier than it sounds, 
consider a ladle), and see if the glucose indicator strip turns positive. If it does, your dog may 
have diabetes.
If she is acting normally, as you report, I would not do anything for now, but bring it up with 
your regular veterinarian at your next annual visit. Most likely it is psychogenic polydypsia, 
a fancy term for drinking more water (or eating snow) for no apparent reason. As you may

My dogs aren't up to date on shots, haven't had heartworm preventative in over 2 years, etc. 
They eat dirt. Dogs in the wild eat dirt. Dogs are more likely to get sick from contaminated 

dog food. I will caution you that so many who use dog parks have worm infested dogs and 

dpn't pick up the poop, so your dog could get worms. I will say we were constantly going to 

the vet because some idiot would feed my dogs, and one has sever food allergies. So we 

stopped. We went holistic after that, and my dogs are much healthier now.

But other than that i really suggest everyone to NOT let dogs eat dirt because that is like 

telling a baby to eat dirt just because. I mean we need to becareful dogs are like family!

I am not joking. 

Veterinarians say that brushing the teeth, like trimming the claws, is part of responsible pet care. 

For huskies, this is particularly important because puppies get used to it. 

Trying to start with an older dog can be pretty hopeless. 

Be careful not to let your husky run loose. 

Don't wait until the pup is grown to start to care about this. 

Otherwise, you may likely lose your pup before it's a dog.

Candy is mostly sugar and it's not good for people or dogs on a regular basis. Dogs can get 

diabetes, too. Fruits given in small snack portions can be great treats. Some good fruits our 

dogs enjoy slices of include: cored apple slices, mango slices, papaya chunks, blueberries, 

banana slices, melon bits 

but all the fruit they get are in very small amounts and not all the time. They get fresh 

veggies and fresh meat, too. Some grains they get include: white rice, quinoa, oatmeal, and 

sometimes other foods such as sweet potato. Fresh meats are in both meals daily. 

They eat a home cooked diet and are doing great, healthwise. They also get plain live active 

cultured yogurt. We aren't skimpy with the meat. So, short answer is: I'd avoid candy, give 

small portions of fresh fruits that are listed as safe for dogs and if I was considering a home 

cooked diet (which I feed my dogs) I'd make sure I had a good balance.

Honestly I gonna say no. Dogs eat worst things then human vomit, rotting carcasses of god 
knows what. Even eating their or another dog or creatures poop, dogs will pretty much eat 
anything and most of the time it doesn't affect them. One thing you might want to consider is 
what you ate, did you eat chocolate? Onions? Those things can kill or make your dog VERY 
sick. Now I don't know if maybe the stomach acids from yourself could have broken that down to the point it wont harm her but I wouldn't take any chances. If you haven't eaten anything that 
can be harmful to your dog then there is nothing to worry about.

This is seriously my opinion also so honestly no god will get sick from eating human throw up 
have you ever heard of a dog eating a mouse? Well yeah i have because my dog did it once 
and i was so scared and found out everything was just fine i was exaggerating about it.
